Sometimes it's nice to get out of town........

As most of us are locals and could walk to the office if need be, (and as much as we love our neighbourhood) it was a refreshing change when Geoff took the crew out on a surprise Christmas visit to the beautiful Tarrawarra Estate Winery in the Yarra Valley. The day was off to a good start with a wine tasting in the cool vaulted cellars, with the enticing smells of the barrels, the variety of wines and some very tasty hors d-oeuvres. Lunch was in the glass surrounds of the restaurant, perfect to take in the stunning views of the rolling hills, the vines, the roses and the lake.

With an Art Gallery on site, it’s more that just a winery, but stuffed full of great food and wine, we didn’t make it inside - content to loll at our table, and afterwards on the grassy hill outside.

There’s also an alfresco dining deck for a more casual experience. For more information check out their website http://www.tarrawarra.com.au/

And the top pick from the Cayzer team? The Roussanne Marsanne Viognier.
